Description

"A dying lizard... lifting up it's front leg to try block the sun light. Blood can be seen coming from underneath the scales. What has happened to this poor animal and it's beautiful scale-clad body?"

So yeah here's another wild life picture. This one taken years ago in the French part of that group of mountains, on the border between France and Spain.

PS:the lizard did not get hurt by me, in fact it had been long gone at the moment I arrived at his body as the lower half of his body was literally missing. So yeah... that's why it's not on the picture. Besides, I quite like the idea of it looking like it's still alive and experiencing it's last moments.
I really wonder though, what has happened to the lizard to have it's lower body completly gone and blood coming from just underneath the scales. Any ideas of what you guys think can be said in the comments section!
By the way, if you happen to know what species this lizard is, I'd love to know this to add it to the description!

Edit: As :iconcypselurus: pointed out, odds are high this may have been a Western Green Lizard, the wikipedia article to this animal is here:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_….
Eventhough we already have the idea of it being a Western Green Lizard, any other ideas to what this is are still welcome and will be put in the description if they're plausible enough.

Maybe a Western Green Lizard like this one? images.cdn4.inmagine.com/168nw…

Not sure how he died..but I'm guessing some sort of a predator along the lines of a hawk or a weasel must've  taken him, seeing as his body was torn in half. Did you happen to see anything like that up in the mountains..?
